Shannon

Position: Yoga Instructor

Shannon has always had a strong interest in holistic wellness. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics in 1993 from the University of Florida. She then pursued her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy graduating in 1999 from the University of St. Augustine. Two years later she became an MTC (certified Manual Therapist). She has been a practicing Physical Therapist for 24 years. Shannon discovered yoga after graduating from PT school and became addicted to the centered calmness she felt after class which carried into her life off the mat. She practiced Bikram’s hot yoga for 20 years, Jenna being one of her teachers. She began discovering and enjoying many different yoga practices and one day her son said, “mom you love yoga so much, why don’t you become a teacher?” So she did. She received her yoga training at My Vinyasa Practice out of Austin Texas. She is a RYT-200 certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance. Shannon is also a certified Ayurvedic Nutrition Coach and committed vegan FTA (for the animals). She is currently enrolled in the Dharma Coaching Institute where she will graduate with dual certifications as a Spiritual and Soul Purpose (Dharma) Life Coach. Shannon is passionate about inclusivity of yoga for everyone and all ages. Her own spiritual journey through yoga, plant medicine, meditation, self study and breathwork has taught her that happiness, joy, and contentment come from within. The teachings and practices she found in yoga support an awakening into a more compassionate and balanced state of being that supports health and longevity through alignment of mind, body, and spirit. Consistent practice cultivates compassion, confidence, and clarity with the ultimate goal of uplifting the collective consciousness. Shannon is beyond thrilled to share her love of yoga with her students! Shannon enjoys connecting with people and animals, riding her bike to the beach for sunrises, spending as much time as possible in nature (kayaking, gardening, etc…), traveling with her two children Eva & Reed and swimming in her pool with her two labs Buddha & Belle.
