Aromatherapy with Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well being through aromatic essential oils medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind and spirit.

We host a monthly weekend Essential Oil Meetup at our studio. It’s usually free, although sometimes it’s in the form of a workshop with a fee, and the participants leave with an oil or something we make together. The intent behind this group is to educate and raise awareness, and eventually, get everyone to check in with their at home products and create their own medicine cabinets and knowledge.

Check our schedule for these classes and join our group on Facebook.

Stay tuned here for our next class!

What Are Essential Oils?

Essential oils are natural extracts from the seeds, stems, roots, flowers, bark and other parts of plants. Have you ever smelled a rose, or a freshly peeled orange? Without knowing it, you have experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. In addition to giving plants their distinctive smells, essential oils protect plants against predators and disease. Essential oils have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Modern scientific study and trends towards more holistic approaches to wellness are paving the way for individuals and families to reinvent healthcare in their own homes.

Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils represent the safest, purest, and most beneficial essential oils available today. They are skillfully distilled from plants around the world in order to provide the most benefits. Essential oil users will immediately recognize the superior quality found in these 100% oils.

Essential oils have been used throughout history in a variety of wellness applications. The Egyptians used essential oils extensively in medical practice, beauty treatment and food preparation. The Greeks also used essential oils for therapeutic massage and aromatherapy, while the Romans used them to promote health and personal hygiene.

In our day, the powerful healing properties of essential oils were rediscovered in 1937 by a French chemist, Rene-Maurice Gattefosse, who accidently healed a badly burned hand with pure lavender oil. During World War II, French Doctor Jean Valnet, used therapeutic-grade essential oils to successfully treat injured soldiers. Dr Valnet then led the development of modern aromatherapy practices. Recently, the use of essential oils has grown rapidly as scientists and medical practitioners research and validate the numerous health benefits of pure and natural essential oils.

This ensures that you are using the most effective and safe oils available, providing you with all the health benefits, but without side-effects or additions associated with many prescription medications.

EFFECTIVE AGAINST BACTERIA AND VIRUSES

When you are diagnosed with a bacterial infection, what does your doctor do? He/ She gives you a prescription for antibiotics. It is different for a viral infection. He sends you home to rest. That is because antibiotics are not effective against viruses which are found inside cells. Essential oils however, are able to get inside the cell and are effective against viruses and bacteria.
